WB Yeats Grave
Irish poet William Butler Yeats chose this peaceful churchyard at Drumcliffe in County Sligo as his final resting place. It is no surprise why he chose here, with its stunning location at the foot of Benbulben mountain.
The graveyard has the remains of a round tower and a high cross constructed in the 11th when there was a Christian monastery on site. Drumcliffe Tea House and Craft Shop offer some mouth-watering homemade cakes and desserts while you search through some of Yeats’ finest collections and Irish Interest Books.

Ceide Fields
The remarkable Neolithic site at Ceide Fields in County Mayo, contains the oldest known stone-walled fields in the world – dating back nearly 6,000 years.
Ceide Fields overlooks the mighty Atlantic Ocean which gently laps or vigorously (Irish weather depending) bashes against the cliffs below. The landscape itself has been forged from the dramatic upheaval and movement of the earth’s crust over millions of years.
Micheal Davitt Museum
The Michael Davitt Museum is located in the picturesque and historic village of Straide in Co Mayo. The museum is housed in the magnificently restored pre-Penal Church that was used prior to the enactment of the 1690’s Penal Laws which were more commonly known as popery laws.
The Michael Davitt Visitor Centre includes the beautiful surrounding grounds of Straide Abbey, which together with parking and picnic area provides an ideal destination for a great family day out in Mayo.

Jackie Clarke Museum
The Jackie Clarke Library and Archives, in Ballina County Mayo, exhibits a collection that was assembled during the life of Jackie Clarke, a businessman and genius collector of Irish historical material. The material spans 400 years and comprising of many rare and important books manuscripts, photographs.
Situated along the banks of the River Moy in County Mayo, the Jackie Clarke Collection is the most important collection of Irish historical material in public hands. It includes items associated with some of the most influential figures of Ireland’s history including, Wolfe Tone, Michael Collins, Douglas Hyde, Michael Davitt, and O’Donovan Rossa.
